Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter, an American film and actress, is well-known for her stellar performances in movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her movie Piano won her an Oscar. In her early years, the accomplished actress began playing on stage for several Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. The actress has always had an interest in acting ever since when she was in the high school. The first time she appeared in a play in fifth grade was Helen Keller. In the fifth grade, due to mumps, she lost hearing in the left ear. But she didn't let that stop her. When she was in college studying drama after which she relocated into New York City with her ambitions in mind. In a chance encounter she became trapped in an elevator along with playwright Beth Henley and the two worked together on the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart and was Hunter's first performance. Hunter relocated from New York to Los Angeles and tried to find films parts. For Swing Shift, she landed a role as a support. She has since appeared in numerous movies, television shows as well as movies throughout the span of a 30-year career. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
